Although I was born and raised in California, before I took a workshop with the Ansel Adams Institute I hadn't a clue about the incredible beauty of Eastern Sierras and Death Valley. This is a hidden part of California, a long drive from anywhere else (Reno is the closest big city). Examples of what's available on I395 and Inyo County (which includes both Mt. Whitney and Death Valley) are available here and here. The place crawls with photographers, and for good reason. I've been back there a couple of times since the workshop. Anyone interested in landscape photography on an incredible scale should visit the Eastern Sierras and Death Valley.
