Nearly all my still lifes are setups composed of fruits, vegetables, and flowers purchased locally. I started pursuing stills in earnest when a knee injury in 2003 made driving very difficult for a few months. My goal in shooting still lifes is to play with, and hopefully reveal something interesting about these everyday items. Mostly, they are studies of beauty and texture and my attempt to tease out the mystery of existence in things. |
